First Blog Post: August Favorites

So, I thought for my first post I would do a 2-in-1 post and it so happened that all of my favorites created a makeup look. The makeup look that my favorites create is (in my opinion) an every day look so lets get in to my favorites, shall we?

First the face:

These have been my go to face products for the past month.

First the BB Cream:

NYC Smooth Skin BB Cream 5 in 1 Instant Matte Skin Perfector

IMG_6291 The color that I have is light.

I like this BB Cream other then it being a bit sheer. It’s awesome.  I would recommend  using a makeup sponge/beauty blender to apply it. That’s what I found works the best. I got mine at Walmart. It was around $4 so it was pretty cheap.

Next the Concealer:

E.l.f. Maximum Coverage Concealer Oil Free

IMG_6292The color that I have is Porcelain.

At the time, I was looking for a new Concealer. And e.l.f. was having free shipping and this one sounded like the best for the best price. I was a little skeptical about this because it sounded to good to be true. Maximum Coverage and Oil Free? But I got it anyway and  it’s pretty amazing. The only thing is I wouldn’t say it’s MAXIMUM coverage, I would call it medium coverage. But thats okay  for me and for $3? I don’t think you can beat that.

Next The Powder:

Rimmel London Stay Matte Long Lasting Pressed Powder

IMG_6293The color that I have is Creamy Natural.

This has been my favorite for a while. I love this powder. If you don’t have this or haven’t tried it before I highly recommend it. It does exactly what it says. It helps you stay matte. It does say up to 5 hours of natural shine control, and I would have to agree with that. So, if you are planning on wearing this for more then five hours, I would take this with you in your purse for touchups. I got mine at Walmart for around $4 or $5.

Now For The Eyes:

These have been my favorite eye products for the past month.

First the Eyeshadow Palette:

Profusion Natural Eyeshadow Palette

I love this eyeshadow palette. It has 3 matte shades and 3 shimmer shades. For this look, I used the matte shades (as you can see in the pic above) I also used the pinkish shade on my cheeks as a kinda highlight. I got mine at Here Today… for around $4 or $5.

Next The Pigment:

Maybelline Color Tattoo Pure Pigment 24hr – Pink Rebel

This is like my favorite part of the look, the color! I love this eyeshadow.

First, its purple/pink. Second, it has a blue/purple sheen to it. If you get it in the right light or wet it, it looks more purple. Third, I got it at Dollar Tree so it was only ONE dollar. (insert happy dance) I put this on the bottom lash line.

Next the Mascara’s:

Cover Girl Clump Crusher – Black

E.l.f. Beautifully Bare Defining Mascara –  Buff Black

Cover Girl: This was my first mascara I ever got.  I’m so glad it was because it’s now my favorite mascara. I plan to repurchase this mascara when it runs out. I think next time I would like to get the waterproof one to try.  I got mine at Walmart for around $6.

E.l.f.: I got this the same time I got the concealer, because I wanted to try something from The Beautifully Bare Collection. I also needed mascara (#perfectscenario).  And I’m so glad that I did because it’s an awesome mascara. The only thing is, if you don’t put another mascara over the E.l.f. Mascara, it kinda  “never ” dries. It’s weird but if you put another mascara over it (like the Clump Crusher) it’s fine. I got it for $3 on the Elf website.

And last, but not least the lips:

E.l.f. Matte Lip Color – Tea Rose

I’ve had the color natural before and I really liked it. I was going to Target to get another one, but they were out of stock.  I got this one instead and I’m so glad I did. This one is now my favorite lip product. I use it everyday. It’s creamy, pigmented, and awesome! Like I said, I got it at Target for $3.

The finished look:

Hope you guys liked my first post as much as I liked making it.  Till next time…
